Atelier HJS – Visual Communication
Hans-Jörg Seidler works as a freelance communication designer. In his studio, he creates concept-orientated design solutions for clients from the fields of art, culture, science and business.
The range of services offered by HJS ranges from the development of visual identities for institutions and companies, to the conception and design of print products and digital media, to large-scale communication measures. In addition to commissioned works, self-initiated projects are an integral part of his work, which are primarily created in his own screen printing workshop.
The works of HJS have received numerous awards and prizes in national and international design competitions; they are regularly shown in solo and group exhibitions and are represented in private and public collections. These include The Museum of Modern Art Toyama (JP), Museum of Applied Art Vienna (AU), Museum Folkwang Essen (DE), Museum für Gestaltung Zurich (CH), Lahti Poster Museum (FI), Les Arts Decoratifs Paris (FR) and the Wilanow Poster Museum (PL).

Working method
Commissioned work is ideally created in close cooperation with the clients. Starting with the first meeting, through analysis, conception and development of the design, to the implementation and production of the communication media.
The basis for every project is an intensive training in the respective field of activity and subject area with its job-specific requirements. In this way an understanding of the contents and concerns of the client can be developed in order to subsequently create an original design solution.
The goal is always to develop an individual and visually high-quality solution. This includes not only the design but also the high-quality production of the respective means of communication. This is accompanied by a fruitful, sustainable and long-term cooperation with the client. This includes not only the design, but also the high-quality production of the respective communication media. This is accompanied by a fruitful, sustainable and long-term cooperation with the client.
Through project-related and scalable collaborations with designers, agencies and partners from neighbouring disciplines, HJS realises projects of most differing sizes.
